Jess and The Bandits firmly established themselves as one of the leading acts in the UK Country Scene in 2017 with her #6 charting album ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ making its way into Country Magazine’s 2017 Highlights as well as singles being named in Lyric Magazine’s Top 10 Songs of 2017 and making their way onto the BBC Radio 2 playlist. Drawing influences from Country, Gospel and Folk, ‘White Lies’ is an emotionally charged ballard of the highest order!
The track which is released on January 26th is this weeks SOTW.
2018 was the year that saw everything change for Jess Clemmons. No longer a single woman, after a whirlwind romance she marries Chris Peavey in December 2017. But 2018 will not just see a change in domestic status for the flame-haired Texan songstress, but a full year of fresh starts.
Having made her name alongside the Bandits, Jess made the difficult decision to split with the boys who had shaped her debut album with her, and team up faces that had joined the band at various intervals during 2017. However, before she could showcase the new line-up fully on the band’s September headline tour, tragedy struck when her family home was damaged by Hurricane Harvey.
While the year certainly proved tumultuous, the big-hearted star made a promise to return to her loyal British fans at the next opportunity, which she will be doing in February to party with them in person. Armed with the band’s #6 charting sophomore album, Smoke and Mirrors, which was name by Country Magazine as one of 2017’s highlights and included the BBC Radio 2 playlisted single Sister (named in Lyric Magazine’s top 10 songs of 2017), Jess and The Bandits are ready to hit 2018 fast and hard.
To celebrate their return to the UK live arena, Jess and the Bandits are releasing the Phil Barton (Lee Brice, David Nail, Drake White) and Emily Shackleton (Carly Pearce, Sara Evans, Cassadee Pope) penned empowerment anthem. Described by Your Life In A Song as “delivered impeccably and constructed intelligently”, White Lies is a flawless example of how Jess & The Bandits continue to deliver country rock with heart and sentiment.
Jess and the Bandits will be heading out on the road for a headlining UK tour in February, with a full summer of festivals soon to be announced. Tour dates below:
