Cascada set to take the dancefloor, or maybe the Dock Park

By lee medd

This year once again sees Youth Beatz coming to Dock Park, Dumfries, and I have to admit I am really excited about one of the headliners more than the other!

While I am sure JAMES ARTHUR the singer-songwriter who won the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012 will grab the big attention, after all his debut single, “Impossible”, was released after the final and debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart in its first week of release. He released his self-titled debut album in November 2013 and it debuted and peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart.

James said;

“It’s always a pleasure playing to the Scottish crowds and I’ve been told the atmosphere at Youth Beatz is amazing. I can’t wait to come and experience it!”

However it is the other headliner that I am most excited about, since the release of their first album almost ten years ago, CASCADA look back on world-wide successes like Everytime We Touch, Miracle, Evacuate The Dancefloor, San Francisco, Summer Of Love or The Rhythm Of The Night.

Front-singer Natalie Horler and her team of producers and writers Yann Peifer and Manuel Reuter have topped charts in more than 20 countries with their irresistible dance-pop songs. Collecting numerous awards throughout their career, they have established themselves as one of the top European dance floor acts.

Natalie from the band said;

“We’re really excited to come to Dumfries to give everyone a great show. We’ve got some new material that we’re looking forward to sharing, along with the classics. See you all in August!”

The headline acts will all be supported by some brilliant local youth talent from our region that includes ONR, Bella and the Bear and Scope.

Having enjoyed successful events in the past seven years the Council expect thousands of young people to flock to Dock Park on Saturday 13 August to attend Scotland’s largest free youth music event. Demand for tickets is sure to be high as the headline acts will be popular among spectators again this year. The main Youth Beatz day will be the highlight to end the 8 day Fringe Festival that will see a large number of community based events run over the Nithsdale area.

Keep visiting www.youthbeatz.co.uk for more information as it becomes available, and the full programme will be available in the coming weeks and keep listening to Medd in the Moring as the event gets closer.
